NORMALISING CONVERSATIONS ABOUT MENTAL HEALTH

Welcome
_____________
Starting therapy, or finding the right therapist for you can be a strenuous process, and for some, altogether daunting. First thing that you need to know is that seeking help in general (formal or informal) is actually a healthy, adaptive form of coping. It means you are cognisant of a need for change and ready to take advantage of all possible resources available. It also means not allowing yourself to remain isolated or “stuck” with your problems.
At Mindward, we have a team of therapists with shared values, but individual working styles since we understand that there is no one fit for all. Similarly, we rely on multiple evidence based approaches from behaviour, cognitive, to trauma informed therapy approaches to be of use to us in sessions as and when the need for any arises. In general, we all adhere to a humanistic (client centered) approach. To get started with therapy, you simply need to contact us or drop us a message and one of our team members will walk you through the entire process.

Meet Mahika
___________
Hi. I am a Clinical Psychologist, working in the field of Mental Health for over nine years. I started Mindward Centre in 2017 with a vision to have a space where all conversations around mental are normalized and spoken about with as much ease and fluidity, as one would, about physical health concerns. I also wanted this set up to be a space which is sensitive and accepting of all cultures and backgrounds. Therefore, in addition to honing my skills and training from time to time, I have endeavored to create a space here which is experienced as safe, calm and grounding for all. This is reflected from our paintings, seating arrangements, and many many plants and rugs around the space. As people are becoming more and more comfortable with seeking help and putting their trust in us, we have increased our team and we will continue to partner with like minded people to cater to varying needs in the future as well. In addition to therapy, I engage in academic teaching as guest faculty with a few Colleges. At other times, we deliver workshops, trainings and and collaborate with NGOs to deliver services and mental health awareness and prevention related campaigns. Feel free to learn more through our Team and Services Page.

__________
I have been in therapy since mid-2020 and over that period of time, with Mahika's guidance - I have been on an amazing journey of self discovery, kindness and taking care of myself. I have taken both online and offline sessions and Mahika Skillfully manages both super well. She creates a safe empathetic space where I feel fully open to discussing things that otherwise are uncomfortable for me. I am really appreciate of everything she and her organization do.
PS: she has super cute cushions and a very comfortable couch!!!
